وارونگی در نوشتار رسمی: جای درست و دقت

درس وارونگی C1 ساختارهای پایه را داد. اینجا دقیق‌تر می‌شویم: وارونگی در کدام جمله‌واره می‌آید (Only when… will…)، کی do لازم نیست، So/Such… that، nor و Only by. یک وارونگی دقیق در انشا دامنه را نشان می‌دهد؛ وارونگی غلط یا زیاد نمره‌ی دقت را پایین می‌آورد.

کجا وارونه کنیم؟
۱. Only when / Only if / Only after + جمله‌واره: جمله‌واره‌ی Only ترتیب عادی دارد و وارونگی در جمله‌واره‌ی اصلی می‌آید. ۲. Only by + -ing و Only then: وارونگی بلافاصله بعدش. ۳. Not only در اول جمله: فقط جمله‌واره‌ی اول وارونه می‌شود و بخش but… also ترتیب عادی دارد؛ اگر not only وسط جمله باشد، وارونگی نداریم. ۴. اگر فعل کمکی یا be داریم، همان را جلو می‌آوریم (Rarely is…، Seldom have…)؛ do/does/did فقط برای حال ساده و گذشته‌ی ساده. ۵. So + صفت + be + فاعل + that و Such + be + اسم + that برای شدت. ۶. nor/neither + فعل کمکی + فاعل برای افزودن یک منفی دیگر.

از جمله‌ی ساده به جمله‌ی دقیق‌تر
برچسب‌ها نمره نیستند: «Simpler» یعنی جمله‌ی درست ولی ساده‌تر و «More precise» یعنی همان ایده، دقیق‌تر یا متنوع‌تر. ساختار بیشتر به‌تنهایی نمره‌ی بیشتر نمی‌آورد؛ اول دقت و روشنی، بعد تنوع. «Error» یعنی جمله‌ای که خطای دستوری دارد و باید درستش کرد.
- Error: The government must invest in renewable energy, only then emissions will fall.دو خطا: دو جمله‌ی کامل فقط با ویرگول به هم چسبیده‌اند (comma splice) و بعد از Only then وارونگی (will emissions) جا افتاده.
- More precise: Only if the government invests heavily in renewable energy will emissions fall significantly.Only if + جمله‌واره‌ی عادی، بعد will emissions fall.
- Simpler: The pollution was very bad, so schools closed.درست ولی ساده.
- More precise: So severe was the pollution that schools were forced to close.So + صفت + was + فاعل + that؛ برای یک جمله‌ی کلیدی در انشا کافی است.

خطاهای جای وارونگی
۱. وارونگی در جمله‌واره‌ی اشتباه: Only when will the government act, … ✗ ← Only when the government acts will…. ۲. do اضافه با be یا فعل کمکی: Rarely does the city is quiet ✗ ← Rarely is the city quiet. ۳. وارونگی بی‌دلیل وقتی not only وسط جمله است: Cycling not only does reduce traffic ✗ ← Cycling not only reduces traffic. ۴. فاعل قبل از فعل در so… that: So severe the pollution was that ✗ ← So severe was the pollution that. ۵. فارسی وارونگی دستوری ندارد و تأکید را با ترتیب آزاد کلمه‌ها می‌سازد؛ برای همین فارسی‌زبان‌ها یا وارونگی را جا می‌اندازند یا در جای غلط می‌گذارند. در اسپیکینگ هم کمتر از آن استفاده کن؛ مصنوعی به نظر می‌رسد.
